I went in to our local library and was amazed at all the goodies available to me at that very instant. It was like going to a candy store and just picking out all my wanna-haves in a matter of minutes. Books, videos, CD’s, and I’m not talking ancient, dusty, old-smelly items that you wouldn’t dare touch for fear of micro-organisms living in it….

I’m talking NEW items that look like they just came out, fresh from-the-box kinda stuff. Brand new items that have barely been touched by other hands, except for the library folks that carefully placed them in their slots.

I was very much impressed at how our local library at the Brighouse branch put a lot of effort in providing us, the best and the newest items available in the market. This supports the idea that when we think and act collectively, bring a community together and share ideas, we can only do better.

It was quite a treat. I picked out a handful of books that I wanted to read, movies that have intrigued me and probably not see anymore in the theatres, and albums of the artists that have so much more to offer than the songs that they make.

Multimedia is engaging you to be a part of an experience that other people crafted and put a lot of effort into. It can be a as unique as one can think and feel, and yet it can move you and bring a community of sharing. Ideas are meant to be shared. And when people come together and do their part to promote this lifestyle, it’s a true gem in our society.

Everyday, we are faced with news about the financial crisis, job-losses and overall negativity and feeling of doom. Reality can sometimes be really hard to take in, but it’s here. We can’t run away from it and somehow, we need to find a way to clear our thoughts from this meltdown.

In times like these, we need a plan to get through the tough times. Going-green may not sound like a bright idea, but here’s some of the reasons why Saving-The-Planet is also actually Saving-You-Money. Read thru:

1. Eat more veggies - they’re healthier for you and costs less than buying meat. A bag of carrots or mushrooms cost less than a package of beef or chicken.

2. Walk or ride a bike/bus - or even car-pool, you get to exercise and have fun rather than sit in your car in traffic everyday.

3. Borrow movies from the library - movies and books are meant to be shared and enjoyed by everyone. When you actually have to have a copy, weigh it in from your wants and needs.

4. Turn-off and Unplug electronics when not in use - those electric suckers just take a tiny bit, but little by little it goes a long way.

5. Do your research online - a lot of times when we’re buying groceries or items in the stores, we simply can be driven to “WANT TO BUY” stuff. Big companies have already done their RESEARCH on our buying habits so why won’t you.

Believe in yourself that if you Plan Ahead, you’ll get somewhere.

our neighbor, the u.s. of a., is in high spirits. the whole world is tuned in to this historic event, and we are filled with hope for the future.

in light of this event, i have dreams of a new world where wars can only be history.
not a recurring nightmare that keeps families in mourning, children living in poverty and hunger, and the only group of people that “win” are ones that invest in warfare.

who’s the biggest arms dealer? i don’t know for sure, but i sure hope that we look underneath the rug after the party’s over.

as we all know, social networking is fast becoming a part of our daily lives. i manage to log in to different sites to connect to friends and relatives. and we know that businesses use these sites not only to connect with clients and co-workers but to advertise through this media too.

i got used to the idea that i am more connected now using the web as a means of communication rather than by using the phone or face-to-face connection. although, i should say, that blogging and social networking do not replace the others. it’s just made it far more easier to connect.
